FORD 1906 MODEL K

In Henry Ford's quest for continual development this was the offering that would almost bankrupt him.
The introduction of the 1906 ,40 Horse power, 6 cylinders was an attempt to enter the luxry car market at lower price than any one else could offer. The 6 cylinder Model K was the result of Ford's racing endevours turned consumer product. Only 350 cars were made in the first year of its production. The Roadster was an attempt to offer a sporty model at 2,800$ and only 50 were produced. Similar makes were offered at prices upto 7000$ at that time.

The particular car, serial # 107, is a prototype roadster offered prrior to general production. This car is completly orignal and operational with every factory otion available at the time. The 405 CID, 40 Horse power engine is coupled to a 2- speed planetary transmission, and the car is capable of 60+ mph. Additional options include Dorian Demountable wheels, speedometer, clock, full wind shield, top and optional trunk.
